Our Story
How Where2Go went from a personal frustration to a solution for Americans everywhere
The Origin (circa 2012)
In a modest call-center office located in Blue Ash, Ohio, Andrew Barker, Spencer Gingras, and Matthew Barker spent their workdays solving customer problems, but one particular day stood out from the rest. A coworker had an urgent and rather desperate need to find a clean restroom, yet after frantically checking every available bathroom in the building, they were left disappointed and uncomfortable. Watching their coworker struggle sparked a humorous yet insightful conversation among the three friends. They joked about the obvious need for an app to solve this exact dilemma and playfully named their hypothetical solution “Poop Mobile.” Although the idea ended in laughs and friendly banter, it quietly planted a seed that stayed in the back of their minds for years to come.
The Spark Rekindled (Summer 2021)
Nearly a decade later, what began as an office joke found new life during Andrew’s bachelor road trip to Asheville, North Carolina. The group was eagerly traveling together, sharing laughs and anticipation for a memorable weekend. However, the journey quickly hit a literal bump in the road: a rest stop bathroom so grimy, neglected, and unpleasant that the group couldn’t help but turn their shock into comedic relief.
This particularly disastrous restroom visit reignited the old “Poop Mobile” concept, transforming it from casual reminiscing into a spirited group activity. From that rest stop onward, throughout the entire trip, from breweries to restaurants, coffee shops, and stores, each friend emerged from the restroom, humorously but honestly rating their experience on a scale from 1 to 10. By the trip’s end, those playful ratings had become a central highlight, proving the idea resonated deeply enough to inspire consistent engagement.

Early Validation & Side Conversations
Over the subsequent months and years, the idea kept surfacing organically, reinforcing its broad appeal. Matthew’s wife recounted casual conversations at her workplace where coworkers openly expressed wishes for exactly this kind of app. Similarly, Spencer frequently heard enthusiastic feedback from parents of the kids on his daughter’s softball team, who immediately recognized the practical value and expressed genuine excitement for such a tool. Clearly, this concept was more than just a humorous anecdote among friends—it resonated deeply with diverse groups, consistently affirming the widespread and genuine need for an accessible solution.
Yet, despite steady encouragement and repeated validation from these spontaneous conversations, the concept remained quietly in the background, waiting for the right time and determination to bring it to life.
Turning Point (2025)
Now, in 2025, Andrew, Spencer, and Matthew have decided it's finally time to bring this vision to life. Drawing from years of laughter, frustration, validation, and shared experiences, Where2Go is becoming a reality. Andrew leads the technical vision, Spencer champions marketing, outreach, and community building, and Matthew drives partnerships and product strategy.
What started humorously as "Poop Mobile" has evolved into a meaningful, purpose-driven solution. It’s now an innovative platform built to address a universal human need, driven by genuine care, empathy, and years of shared stories from everyday people seeking nothing more complicated than a clean place when nature calls.
